This project centred on the creation of a light-filled family living space while carefully enhancing the functionality of the original farmhouse. A contemporary single-storey glazed extension was added to the side of the property, creating a spacious family room that connects seamlessly with the existing house. Internally, the layout was opened up and reconfigured to improve flow, usability and the relationship between the new and existing spaces.

As part of the wider renovation works, the right-hand section of the ground floor underwent a complete refurbishment to create a self-contained living area with its own kitchenette, providing flexible accommodation suitable for extended family living or guest use.

The original farmhouse also required extensive remedial work to address longstanding damp issues, ensuring the building's fabric was protected and brought up to a modern standard. The completed project successfully combines contemporary design with traditional character, delivering a practical and versatile home that meets the needs of modern family life while remaining sympathetic to its rural setting.
